Guidelines
Editorial Standards
These standards help keep JurySocial a place where quality edits are celebrated and the community can discover work worth watching. Every submission is reviewed against these expectations before it appears on the site.
Originality
- Edits must be your own original work or a credited collaboration.
- Re-uploads of someone else's edit without proper credit will be rejected.
Technical quality
- Minimum resolution of 720p; 1080p or higher is strongly preferred.
- Audio and video should be properly synced with no major artifacts.
- Avoid watermarks from other platforms or editing apps when possible.
Aesthetic expectations
- To maintain a good level of quality, we mostly look at the basics (pan/crop, time remap, color grading, SFX, and pacing are prominent examples). However originality and creativity does come a long way, usually not one thing "makes or breaks" an edit when it comes to selection, its a combination of things. For examples of what we have approved, comb through our trove of archived edits here.
Example of good basics
A strong example of fundamentals done right — clean pan/crop, good time remap, deliberate pacing, and simple SFX. These are the types of basics we look for, and it's a decent indicator of an editors skill.
Review process
Submissions enter a review queue where community curators evaluate them against these standards. Most edits are reviewed within a day. If your edit is rejected, you'll be welcome to refine it and submit again — we want to see great work from everyone.
